PROVIDENCE—Rhode Island will receive nearly $300,000 as part of a $62 million settlement with drugmaker Eli Lilly & Co.
The settlement with 32 states and Washington, D.C., resolves an investigation into the company’s marketing practices of its top-selling drug Zyprexa, an antipsychotic medication.
Attorneys general from around the country had accused Lilly of marketing Zyprexa for off-label uses and inadequately disclosing the drug’s side effects to health care providers.
Rhode Island Attorney General Patrick Lynch announced Tuesday that the state’s share was $297,819.
The company did not admit wrongdoing under the settlement.

Zyprexa has generated a lot of bad press for Eli Lilly and they still have unresolved Zyprexa settlement claims.
Eli Lilly is ‘reaping the whirlwind’ for aggressive marketing of Zyprexa that has caused suffering and deaths.
DO the RIGHT THING!
Lilly has a tiger by the tail, many individual Zyprexa claimants have NOT been paid yet.

...well, Sheldon’s big election gambit with the Cigarette Lawsuit didn’t pan out as many Legislators hoped, but this one time revenue sourse will certainly be welcome to the “Gang of Crooks” up in the state house.
The fight will come over which Special Interest Group gets funded, rather than paying off the debt.
