No verdict yet in case of fatally beaten toddler

PROVIDENCE—A jury has ended its first day of deliberations without reaching a verdict in the case of a man charged with fatally beating his girlfriend’s 3-year-old nephew because he was mad the child made a mess in his apartment.
The jury got the case Wednesday morning and deliberated for several hours before leaving for the day. Deliberations resume Thursday.
Delestre is charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder in the October 2004 death of Thomas “T.J.“ Wright.
He has admitted striking the boy but said he did not mean to kill him. His lawyer has asked jurors to convict Delestre of manslaughter but acquit him of murder.
Delestre’s girlfriend, Katherine Bunnell, was convicted in May of second-degree murder and sentenced to life with the possibility of parole.

That poor baby.Never had a chance with losers for family. His mom was in the ACI whan this all happened. People like that should not be able to bring kids into this world. Hope they all rot in jail.

Im a mom of 4 kids and i love my kids dearly….. these people who kill children should be killed them self hmmm bring back the death penlty why should they have a life to live.. where this little boy don’t have a life to live….. cause he has gone to heaven and these people are here and living for free in a cell and work, then let go cause they did good in jail please kill em why they have a life….. it not fair for the family who lost a love one live in pain a sorrow where then one who kill get away with it and live in jail and get food a bed a blanket and look at four wall…. bring back the death penlty…...

this story makes me so sick. I can’t even imagine how afraid that poor baby was when he was awoke in the middle of the night. he probably never even had a chance to realize what they were screaming about. Whether or not there was intent to kill, they did kill him. Disgusting!
