PROVIDENCE – Researchers at Rhode Island Hospital are conducting a research study of caregivers for people with dementia.
The project is investigating ways to alleviate the burden and stress associated with caregivers and will track whether telephone intervention can help reduce the issues.
Caregivers taking part in the study will be screened and assessed and will receive support calls from therapists for six months.
The hospital will enroll 264 families in the project, which will continue through the summer of 2011.
