Police investigate fatal crash on the Cape

BARNSTABLE, Mass. – The Massachusetts State Police are investigating a fatal crash in Barnstable.
On Wednesday morning, at approximately 6:19 a.m., troopers responded to a single vehicle crash on Route 6 west at exit 6 in Barnstable that resulted in one fatality.
Preliminary investigation indicates that an adult male was operating a 1997 Ford Ranger on Route 6 westbound, when the vehicle veered to the left and rolled over three times before coming to rest in the median.
The unrestrained operator was ejected from the vehicle, suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending proper notification of next of kin.
This crash remains under investigation with the assistance of the State Police Crime Scene Services Section.
