Cromwell, Conn. - Cromwell police have arrested a man accused of taking his 3-year-old son shopping, then leaving him at the store.
Police say 43-year-old Darren Fleck had taken his son to a Wal-Mart store Monday evening, but left the boy there and went home and went to bed.
Police say the boy’s mother began making calls when she discovered her son wasn’t home and she couldn’t get a satisfactory answer from Fleck about her son’s whereabouts.
Police say the boy was discovered by workers at the Wal-Mart store on Berlin Road. He was walking alone in the store, reading a book.
The father has been charged with risk of injury to a minor and released after posting $10,000 bond.
