PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The A.H. Belo Corp. is selling the headquarters of the Providence Journal and other downtown properties.

The newspaper reported Thursday that the CB Richard Ellis real estate company began offering its four-story brick headquarters on Fountain Street, two nearby parking lots and a parking garage as a package this week.

Charles Francis, president of the real estate firm, said there is no asking price, but the assessed value of those properties is $33.2 million.

A.H. Belo also is offering a 3.9-acre site housing Rhode Island Monthly magazine and a Journal distribution center.

A.H. Belo’s chief executive Robert Decherd said in July the company was considering selling property in Providence and other cities as part of a restructuring plan. The proceeds would be used to invest in technology and areas to generate growth.
