The medical examiner is trying to identify the remains found Wednesday in East Providence.
Authorities believe the remains are those of Joseph “Joe Onions” Scanlon, who was killed by the mob 30 years ago.
NBC 10’s Dan Jaehnig explains how investigators will make that determination.
