Alan Shawn Feinstein’s name will be removed from the IMAX theater at Providence Place, The Feinstein Foundation said in a news release Tuesday.
IMAX Corp. sold the theater to National Amusements about a year ago. Feinstein, a philanthropist, and the new owner were unable to come to an agreement on naming rights and other issues, including free admission for local school children.
“The new management would not continue some of these rights and requested a very huge sum of money from Feinstein to continue just the naming rights alone,“ the foundation said.
The foundation said Feinstein would not accept the terms.
