With Rhode Island’s unemployment rate currently at 9.3 percent, more and more residents are looking to be trained in new careers.
Economic development officials have been encouraging biotech companies to locate in the Ocean State. They feel that is one of the high-paying industries of the future.
At URI’s Feinstein campus in Providence, courses are available under the auspices of the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training that can train qualified individuals in this kind of work.
Edward Bozzi is an assistant clinical professor who explains more about the program in the video above.
